I have a small suggestion. I would like to add to Manu Thomas's posting on 9/30/2004. Please use some simple encryption when the user profile id (eg: 1 for Tomy or say 125 for Manoj) is displayed. I guess if anyone knows the id and the pattern in which they are given, can send messages anonymously to all.
Again, in my opinion, adding a "Comments" field in the profile wherein mates can put their latest news or message, will be better.

"submit" button in "new member form" doesn't work in all the browsers( i tried to use firefox-but didn't work)

Cooool!!! gr8 work!
One suggestion though. It would be nice if you could keep the name display and birthday date in Indian format. Afterall, this isn't the office & we dont have any US clients ;) It may be a small thing but it is a matter of aesthetics.
Noticed a couple of bugs.
1. The 'Submit' button in New Members does not work in Mozilla. Had to use IE.
2. Clicking 'Home' takes me to a page(home.asp) with only the pic of the main block sans the text.
Btb, mace.ac.in also has a new look. Its better than before but still lots of spelling mistakes and errors.

1.Good use of common sense to use IE when you found that submit option not working with Mozilla! Saves us bit of work ;-)

Few more suggestions.
1. When a new user registers, u could send out a mail to notify his/her classmates. This will help in validating the new user and also encourage members to visit the site more often.
2. There could be and option for a user to choose if he wants to recive such notification.
3. You could periodically send each user a list of all his class/batch mates and ask them to go thru it & invite those who are not already registered.

That is real good suggestion and yes, we will be sending notification mails to all the registered members of Macemates.com about the latest MACE related news,events, member additions etc. Those are the privilages for being a member.So what are you waiting for? Join Macemates.com asap!

How do you validate the user who is signing as a new user(i,e. how do u check, if he is a MACEian or not).The person can be anyone outside our college also ???

This is just an alumni site. So quick answer to that is that mostly people know their batch-mates/classmates and if anyone find any anomalies in the entry they can let us know, and we can take the required action. Normally intruders will come in search of mail ids. We are not displaying any mail ids in our site.
