I am getting mails from macemates.But I couldn't sign in as a member why?

Hello Asha, As you have said you are getting mail, you are a member of macemates@yahoogroups.com. It seems you are trying to login macemates.com. If you are a member of macemates@yahoogroups.com doesn't mean you are a member of macemates.com. Macemates@yahoogroups.com is technically different from macemates.com. If you want to login macemates.com, register your detail in the site.

I dont remember any Asish Koshy from d 2004 Electrical Batch.Cud u kindly chk back on this person cos thr was no Asish Koshy in either Ea or Eb in my batch.Thr was only a Johnson Ashish Joseph.

Just curious. How do you select the 8 persons for the month? And what are the criteria on they are relatively evaluated?

We went through the profiles in the site and selected 8 profiles, which are neatly and completely filled.
Profiles with photos too may get some added advantage.
So login to the site, click on 'My profile' and update your profile with complete details.
Please make sure that you have filled the 'About me' details.
Then your profile will be selected for the poll in coming months. :-)

Hi,
Congratulations on the great job you ppl are doing!! But please do look into the following concerns
1. Some options still not available from non IE browsers
2. Before adding a member, can you please crosscheck the authenticity of the person by consulting their classmates/batchmates. Earlier I had seen one or two bogus members in the list of my batch (but they were quickly removed).But one of their guestbook entries still remains
3. Regarding the MACEian of the Month poll, I dont know a single person in the list. It makes no sense for me to participate in the poll. It would be nice if you could provide an additional profile , achievements etc for the person in context

2. Yes, we are now in the process of putting together class based representatives in order to achieve this.It is very difficult to verify each and everyone of 1000+ members we got.So we need your help and participation in this...
3. well,the key purpose of MACEian of the Month poll is for members to know each other from all batches and branches.So this is your chance to know some interesting MACEians. We encourage members to put additional details in the About Me section to make it more fun and interesting

I got a message sent by one of my friends through macemates.That yahoo mail didnt have any option to reply to that message.It didnt even have a link to macemates homepage.I think it would be nice if there is an option for replying there itself .
U people are doing a good job at the moment.
So thought about giving some suggestions.

Thanks for your suggestions.
Macemates contacts are delivered to you by admin@macemates.com using a special tool. This is automated. In all the mail you get, you can see your friend's Name, Email Address, Subject and Message. Instead of just clicking 'Reply', please see the email address and reply to that address.
Also in the footer of the mail, you can see...
"This message has been sent to you through http://macemates.com/ by Your_Friend's_Name"
I think this is what you are asking for.
And it is already there.
Please ask any your friend to send a test mail to you through macemates.com.
And check it properly whether you have got enough information in the mail.

Hi,
Keep up the good work.
I wanted to bring into your notice,
When you click on any member information, in the page that loads has a home link on the right top corner, this points to home.asp where as the Home link in the top frame points to index.asp
Another thing regarding giving more publicity to Macemates.com site is to provide small html code similar to the one's given in yahoogroups under the promote link, where the users can put the code as signature in their mails to their friends. Also there are lot of batch wise and class wise yahoogroups. I am member of CS_mace and mace2002 groups. You can ask the moderators to put a link to MACEMATES.com as the group signature.

Cheers for the points. Yes, the idea on giving a link to Macemates.com as group signature of class/batch egroups is great.
Most of you might be members in various class/batch egroups, so could you bring this to the attention of the moderators of respective egroups, so that they can include the link in the group signature.Could fellow MACEians who are members and moderators of egroups take initiative for the same.

True. The reason why we do not display full mailids in the site, is to avoid spam mailid programs from doing thier job!
But registered members can make use of the email facility within Macemates.com to contact thier friends
